Edward Teach, notoriously known as "Blackbeard," was killed by Captain Maynard on November 22, 1718 in the Pamlico Sound near Ocracoke Island, NC. There is no doubt that migrating waterfowl were some of the only witnesses to his beheading on that chilly autumn morning. His ghost still haunts the Pamlico Sound to this day, and his presence can be felt whipping across the salt during the cold northwest winds every fall...
